The HCSC Altar Servers assists the clergy and congregation in the Liturgical celebrations of the parish. They carry the cross, candles and incense in processions. They assist in preparing the sanctuary and the altar and they directly assist the clergy in the preparation of the gifts.
The Altar Servers receive instructions under the guidance of the Masters of Ceremony (M.C.’s) and the clergy. They perform their duties on a rotating schedule between the 8AM and 11AM Mass and they receive training and on-going formation sessions. Altar Servers need to have an ability to be attentive and reverent at Mass. Youth, young adults and adults can serve as an Altar Server.
